Advantage/Supplements/PDP

Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Supplements (Medigap) are options to enhance original Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans, from private insurers, include original Medicare benefits, plus extras like vision, dental, and hearing often with little to no monthly premiums although they do have network restrictions and the protection of an annual out-of-pocket maximum.

Medigap plans cover costs such as copayments and deductibles that aren't paid by original Medicare, providing predictable expenses and the flexibility to choose providers without network restrictions. While they don't include additional benefits like dental, vision, hearing, or prescription drug coverage—those can be obtained through separate plans—Medigap plans offer the peace of mind and flexibility that some advantage plans may lack.

Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) provide coverage for prescription medications, helping reduce out-of-pocket costs. These plans cover a range of medications, with costs and coverage varying based on the plan. It's important to compare different PDP options to ensure they meet your specific medication needs and offer the best value for your budget.

The best option for all of these depend on personal healthcare needs and preferences.
